An indirect system involves a water tank with a network of heat pipes that run from the outside of the tank to the inside of the tank. The heat pipes on the outside of the tank collect the sun’s radiant heat, which warms the fluid inside the pipes. The warmed fluid flows through the pipes, and the heat is absorbed by water.
